Grandmaster Peter Urban

Master Peter Urban, Hanshi Angel's Sensei, is the man that introduced GoJu-Ryu karate to the United States.

While serving in Japan with the Navy in the early 1950's, Sensei Urban studied with the Grandmaster Gogen Yamaguchi.

After studying for many years Sensei Urban returned to the United States and in 1959 began teaching GoJu in Union City, NJ.

Due to some minor changes and additions, he later named his style "U.S.A. GoJu-Ryu".
